How To Be Known As A Courageous Entrepreneur Courage Series Part 12 3 Words To Embrace On The Entrepreneurial Adventure
Business is hard. The struggle is real. It can even be scary sometimes.

The last 2 challenges in the Courage Series are actually 3 words. They are words you want to embrace if you want to be (and be known as) a courageous entrepreneur.

“You will always find these 3 things in someone who is being courageous.” Kim White

Here are the 3 words to stick up on your refrigerator or behind your desk, to keep at the front of your mind as you go about your day-to-day activities on your entrepreneurial adventure.

 1. FOCUS

In one of the final scenes of our movie, A Knight’s Tale, William was so determined to joust against his enemy (spoiler alert ahead…) that he literally had his lance secured to his arm so that he could compete, and he had no armor on.

He knew he was possibly going to his death. And if he flinched at all, he would lose, but he dared to do it anyway.

He became laser-focused… and he didn't just joust and win, he unhorsed his opponent, who had become his biggest hater throughout the movie.

It’s the same on the entrepreneurial adventure. Don’t go doing anything harmful or dangerous like in the movie. That’s not what it’s about. Stay focused (mind the pun!)

“It’s about being focused on the right things.” Kim White

You are literally focused on what is important: your priorities, your life, your business. It means you’re not distracted by the squirrels running by.

“When you are making an impact on lives and businesses, things will get thrown your way: hurdles, obstacles, haters, and whatever else there may be. But when you know you’re making an impact, it’s easier to stay focused.” Jill Olish

Courage Challenge #37: What do you need to have the courage to be laser-focused on in your business?

2. VULNERABILITY

“Unless we are vulnerable in the way that lets others connect with us, we cannot build relationships that are sincere.” Kim White

Without vulnerability, you cannot have the community you want. You cannot surround yourself with other humans. Without vulnerability, you have to keep your masks on, always pretending to be something.

It’s crucial to be vulnerable. But it’s difficult. It is a very courageous choice to be vulnerable.

“If you're thinking about something or you need an income for something, don't let things you don't know about stop you.” Kim White

Be honest about who you are, what you’re good at, but also about where you need help and what you still need to learn.

3. DETERMINATION

“Sometimes we have to, to literally step out on what looks like nothing to change your stars in a way that is magnificent.” Kim White

If you're wishy-washy about what you want, it is not likely you are going to achieve your goal.

You need to have clarity if you want to see your dreams come to fruition.

“With clarity comes determination.” Kim White

Is it time for you to stop waffling on which things you want?

It won’t be an overnight success, but you can build a great business. A business that you love and that you own, not one that owns you.

Courage Challenge #38: Is there evidence in your life and business that you are focused, vulnerable, and determined?

“You have to have focus, vulnerability, and be determined. Those things are the evidence that you are being courageous.” Kim White

These three words —focus, vulnerability, and determination —are not just words. They are the building blocks of courage on your entrepreneurial adventure.

“Take advantage of this series and all the courage, confidence, and encouragement we’ve put out here for you to borrow from us.”  Jill Olish
